With a commercially available chiral ferrocene-based phosphine–oxazoline ligand, we have realized an efficient rhodium-catalysed enantioselective hydrosilylation of unactivated alkenes, delivering Si-stereogenic monohydrosilanes in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. Congrats to Prof Wu and Hao-Yang! We have developed a Cu-catalyzed coupling reaction of acylsilanes with alkynes under photoirradiation via a in-situ generated Fischer-type copper carbene species. The side-arm modified bisoxazoline (SaBox) ligands prove to be crucial for this reaction, which provides the corresponding alkynyl alcohols in high yields with remarkable heterocycle tolerance and broad substrate scope. Taking advantage of the unique properties of Si, we have designed a chiral Si-centered spirocycle scaffold (SPSiOL) for chiral catalyst and ligand development. Accordingly, we have developed a method for the asymmetric synthesis of chiral spirosilabiindanes. The preliminary results just get accepted in Angew. Chem. Congrats to Xin and Pei-Long!
